This was the first book I read from Clive Cussler. The book was entertaining and it was a fun and enjoyable read, travelling all over Europe with the characters. I had picked up this book as I had recently seen a PBS documentary on Huns and the author did a good job of wielding that into the story.
An interesting read. The “twists” in the stories were great. This was my first book by Jeffery Deaver. This author has a very creative imagination and you really cannot predict the twists and turns in the stories.
Somehow this book did not live up to my expectations. Harper Lee (bless her soul) did a far better job with to kill a mocking bird I think. To find out that Atticus finch is not what we thought he was, the introduction of Atticus brother and sister and all the associated characters, Scout’s diatribe I was wondering where all this was headed. I read somewhere that go set a watchman was written before to kill a mocking bird and perhaps that explains it.
Amazon Reviews of The Eleven Commandments ? from a naked unshackled mind
“Entertaining, fun, kept me laughing throughout the reading!”
“mishmash of times travel and jumping form frame to frame that makes this story hilariously cogent”
A Highly Amusing and Insightful Take on Religion
“5* Delightfully amusing parody; 3* Seriously religious MUST heed author’s warning.”
“Prominent is the concept of random thoughts from an unshackled mind, which enabled the author to convey in a humorous way, so many unanswered questions, many unanswerable, others answerable depending on your interpretation, relevance, spiritual connotation and more”
“I really enjoyed this book and laughed and chuckled throughout it. Very nice writing style, smooth transitions between the different Ages and characters.”
“story was uniquely organized and fun to read. It also moves very fast and is only about a hundred pages, so it can easily be read in an afternoon.”
“I enjoyed every bit of this smart humour and I recommend it further!”
“I really enjoy the authors sense of humor and voice as I think they worked magically together to create something that is simply a lot of fun. The author did a great job of creating characters and keeping a plot that moves perfectly, while bringing out the author’s ultimate goal, humor.”
A hilarious, irreverent, and thought provoking book.
“Now THIS is how you write a book, ladies and gentleman! Count me in. This is my kind of comical book”
I don’t seem to get enough of this book. I have seen the movie read the book and this year re-read it. This is an all time classic and I think this should be mandatory reading for all. When I had initially read it I thought the book dealt with race issues in the deep south but this time around I realized it dealt with more than just that. Don’t want to give it away so read the book
